Chromatography Lab
Location: Building B, Room number: B-307
Description about lab: Chromatography labs focused on food and agriculture play a vital role in ensuring the safety and quality of our food supply. Within these labs, there are specialized equipment like gas chromatographs coupled with mass spectrometers (GC-MS) for analyzing pesticide residues, volatile flavor compounds, and contaminants in food products. High-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) systems are used to quantify vitamins, analyze food additives, plant bioactive compounds and identify mycotoxins. The data generated in these labs is essential for regulatory compliance, product development, and understanding the complex chemical composition of food and agricultural products.
