    Dr. HEM Ramrav joined an international career talk as a speaker

    Dr. HEM Ramrav, a GRU graduate 2008, was a speaker at an international career talk held at Hokkaido University, Japan, 22 January 2016. He is currently a researcher at Toyo Construction, Japan. It is reminded that Dr HEM Ramrav also generously provides the HEM RAMRAV AWARD to outstanding female students who enter the Department of Rural Engineering (GRU), Institute of Technology of Cambodia.

  • Workshop on Water and Environment

    Workshop on Water and Environment

    Workshop on Water and Environment was organized by Department of Rural Engineering (GRU) at Institute of Technology of Cambodia (ITC), Phnom Penh, 11 January 2016. There are in total 12 presentation topics which include but are not limited to climate change, groundwater, water supply, wastewater, irrigation, integrated water resource management, and water, food and energy nexus. Speakers are from universities in three different continents: Africa (Ethiopia, Kenya, Uganda), Asia (Bangladesh, Cambodia, Sri Lanka) and Europe (Norway). There are about 170 participants from government agencies, NGOs and universities (in Africa, Asia and Europe). This one-day workshop is funded by NORHED program of NORAD, Norway, through Water and Society (WaSo) project of which ITC-GRU is a partner.

  • WaSo Asia/Africa Annual Meeting

    WaSo Asia/Africa Annual Meeting

    Institute of Technology of Cambodia (ITC), a member of Water and Society (WaSo) project funded by NORHED program of NORAD, Norway, organized the WaSo Asia/Africa Annual Meeting in Siem Reap, 7-10 January 2016. There were in total 30 participants from 11 partner universities in Africa (Ethiopia, Kenya, South Sudan & Uganda), Asia (Bangladesh, Cambodia & Sri Lanka) and Europe (Norway). Representing ITC and Department of Rural Engineering (GRU), there are Dr. OM Romny, Mr. PHOL Norith, Mr. SOY Ty, Dr. HENG Sokchhay & Miss ROEUNGDETH Chanreasmey.

  • Site Irrigation Engineer (for former students)

    A private Company, K.S.B Construction Co.,Ltd, is getting a sub-contracted works from Sinohydro Corporation Company (Chinese main-contractor) in the framework of Achang Irrigation Development Project in Boribo District, Kampong Chhnang Province. So, our Company would like to recruit a Site Engineer (Surveyor) as soon as possible with following criteria:

    1. Working under supervision of Company director and Site Manager

    2. Duties:

    • Implement the activities according to planning
    • Supervise the survey team of 3 stamp men
    • Conduct leveling survey
    • Offset the canal centerline and hydraulic structure locations provided that main-contractor
    • Apply the hydraulic structure drawing to real construction site
    • Other relevant tasks assigned by Site Manager

    3. Requirements

    • Experiences in construction site at least 1 year
    • Surveying skill
    • Good notion of English, Chinese knowledge is more preferable
    • Stay at Site at least 25 days per month

    4. Benefit

    • Salary 300 – 400 US$ according to experiences
    • 3 meals per day

    Towards Urban Water Security in Southeast Asia: Managing Risk of Extreme Events

    ITC together with Asian Institute of Technology (AIT, Thailand) jointly organized an international expert workshop on “Towards Urban Water Security in Southeast Asia: Managing Risk of Extreme Events”, 19-20 November, 2015, at Imperial Garden Hotel, Phnom Penh. Seven participants from ITC-GRU attended the workshop. They are Dr. Seng Bunrith, Dr. Doung Ratha, Mr. Lun Sambo, Mr. Ou Sothea, Mr. Hong Penghour, Miss Hong Vouchleang and Miss Sea Naichy.

    Regional Power Integration in the Greater Mekong Sub-region

    The Department of Rural Engineering of ITC together with International Centre for Hydropower (ICH, Norway) jointly organized a training workshop on “Regional Power Integration in the Greater Mekong Sub-region”, 16-20 November 2015, at Angkor Paradise Hotel, Siem Reap, Cambodia. Resource persons and participants are from ITC-GRU, ICH, ERIA, MRC, MME, EAC, EDC and DGPC (Bhutan). Participants from ITC-GRU are Mr. Phol Norith, Dr. Heng Sokchhay, Mr. Song Layheang, Mr. Noum Viraday and Mr. Mong Marith.
