Environmental Observation Lab
Location: Building A, Room Number: A-108
Description about lab: The Environmental Microbiology Lab is one of four research laboratories managed by PAER, established in 2018 with support from the SATREP-Tonle Sap project and funded by JICA/JST.
The Environmental Observation Lab focuses on field investigations and the analysis of the physicochemical quality of environmental samples. Key activities include basic water quality measurements, sample preparation, and field survey. The lab is equipped with advanced tools such as an Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler (ADCP) and water quality sensors to support comprehensive data collection and analysis.

Research areas:
● Water Quality Monitoring: Measuring key water parameters (pH, temperature, turbidity, etc.) and analyzing pollutants.
● Field Investigations: Conducting field surveys for environmental data collection and sample preparation.
● Hydrodynamics: Using ADCP to measure water flow and velocity in aquatic environments.
● Ecosystem Monitoring: Evaluating the impact of water quality on aquatic ecosystems and biodiversity.
Services:
– Physicochemical water quality testing
– Field surveys and sample collection for environmental studies.
– Provide ADCP-based water flow and velocity measurements.
