Petroleum Engineering Lab

Location: Building H, Room number: H-302

Description about lab:

The Petroleum Engineering Laboratory was initially established as part of the JICA project and later underwent significant upgrades under the Higher Education Improvement (HEIP) project to enhance its research and testing capabilities. The laboratory is equipped with advanced instrumentation to support petroleum engineering studies, reservoir characterization, and enhanced oil recovery research. Among the key equipment, the PVT Cell-Education Fluid Eval model VINCI is integrated with a viscometer system, enabling precise measurement of fluid properties. Additionally, the lab features rolling ball viscosity and cone rotary viscosity measurement systems for analyzing crude oil and other hydrocarbons under various pressure and temperature conditions. The facility also includes a core flooding device for simulating reservoir conditions and evaluating enhanced oil recovery techniques. Other essential systems allow for testing pour point, density, porosity, and permeability, providing comprehensive insights into fluid and rock interactions crucial for petroleum reservoir development and production optimization.
