Rubber Processing Lab
Location: Workshop behind Building D
Description about lab:
The Higher Education Improvement Project (HEIP) has approved a research project titled “Cambodian Natural Rubber Composites with Different Types of Mineral Fillers for Shock-Absorbing Applications.” This project allows the Institute of Technology of Cambodia (ITC) to establish a Rubber Processing Laboratory to enhance research capabilities for both researchers and students. The lab, set to be operational by early 2022, will also facilitate collaboration with companies in the rubber industry.
This is the first rubber processing lab in Cambodian universities, providing students with hands-on experience in rubber compounding and testing properties of products like tires and toys. Key equipment includes a two-roll mill, rheometer, vulcanizing machine, hardness testers, drum abrasion machine, De-Mattia fatigue machine, aging oven, and Mooney viscometer are used for carrying out research and development of rubber materials and products.
