Director General of ITC visited the Japanese counterparts under SATREPS Project

On March 26-31, 2023 the delegates from Cambodia side led by H.E. Dr. Po Kimtho, Director General of ITC visited the Japanese counterparts under SATREPS Project. The delegates consist of management team from Institute of Technology of Cambodia, University Health Sciences, National University of Management, and Ministry of Environment. The visit aims to pay the courtesy Japanese counterparts for their support as well to extend the collaboration in term of research activity, staff mobility and student exchange.

The visit was arranged within one week with very tight schedule:

Prof. WADA Takashi, President, and his team from Kanazawa University

Prof. ASAO Hiroyoshi, President, and his team from Osaka Ohtani University
Prof. ITO Masako, Trustee, and her team from Nagasaki University

The visiting has been warmly welcome by top managements of Japanese organizations. All parties have been exchanged their presentations followed by laboratories and Supersite tours to understand each other for extending collaboration. Finally, both parties highly expect the fruitful result from this join research project and to extend further research collaboration as well as exchange program and mobility.

Note that in 2022, the Institute of Technology of Cambodia (ITC) was awarded a research grant from Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), called SATREPS (Science and Technology Research Partnership for Sustainable Development Program) Project. It is 5-yearch research project, July 1, 2022 – June 31, 2027, and involving with 9 organizations (4 organizations from Cambodia and 5 organizations from Japan). The project aims to improve the research capacity and research collaboration among the partners in the aspect of air pollution. Therefore, the project’s title is Establishment of platform for air pollution.
