(ITC-Phnom Penh) – On December 4, 2024, the Institute of Technology of Cambodia (ITC) hosted the 7th Industry Consortium (2024) under the theme “Building Collaborative Pathways for Industry Growth and Skills Development”. The event welcomed business and academic leaders to discuss strategies to bring academia and industry together to advance Cambodia’s technology landscape.
H.E. Prof. Dr. PO Kimtho, Director General of ITC, opened the event by highlighting the importance of partnerships in achieving sustainable development. Dr. BUN Long, Deputy Director General of ITC, presented an overview and recent development of ITC, successes in industrial collaboration including professional training programs, and new initiatives to establish an Industry Advisory Board (IAB) and an apprenticeship program to align ITC offerings with market needs.
Discussions focused on the following key areas:
• Aligning academic programs with industry needs;
• Developing professional training and short-term programs;
• Enhancing research collaboration and innovation;
• Establishing an industry advisory board for strategic program development.
Outcomes included strengthened partnerships, expanded internship and training opportunities, and commitments to collaborative research and consulting initiatives. The event concluded with a networking reception, reinforcing ITC’s commitment to fostering partnerships that drive innovation and workforce development in Cambodia.
