    Bridging Theory and Practice! 💧🏗️

On January 08, 2026, a group of 52 students (5th-year of Water and Environmetal Engineering program and 2nd-year Associate degree of engineering in Water Supply and Sanitation) from the Faculty of Hydrology and Water Resources Engineering at the Institute of Technology of Cambodia (ITC) conducted a study visit to the Bakheng Water Treatment Plant and the K&K Pipe Cambodia factory.

The objective of this educational visit is to provide students with practical insights into water treatment and pipe manufacturing technologies, reinforcing theoretical knowledge acquired during their academic coursework. This visit provided a valuable opportunity for students to observe real-world technical applications and deepen their understanding of the theories learned in the classroom.

The Faculty and ITC would like to sincerely thank the teams at the Phnom Penh Water Supply Authority (PPWSA) and K&K PIPE Cambodia for their warm welcome and for facilitating this educational experience.

    Seminar on “Marine Mediterranean Saprope”

    [29th September 2025]

Discover their origin, paleo-oceanographic meaning, and why they matter, especially when compared to their lacustrine counterparts.

A big thank you to Prof. Alessandra Negri from the Università Politecnica Delle Marche for her fantastic seminar on “Marine Mediterranean Sapropel.” We had an interesting discussion about sapropel deposits and how they might relate to Tonle Sap Lake, sparking ideas for a new joint research project.

Outdoor activity of GRU students Fieldwork at the Experimental Site of Water Oriented Living Lab. (WOLL)

Fieldwork activity (Outdoor education): The idea is to integrate between class work and real experiment on Water and Environmetal Engineering class by performing series of the field practices and measurement including water flow velocity and discharge measurement, In-situ water quality measurement, Groundwater level measurement, Practical work with DGPS and data collection and maintenance the equipment installed in the field. There are 26 students of Water and Environmental Engineering (WEE), 11 Lecturers/researchers (Khmer, French, Spain). We also making video of activity. Let’s wait to see!

Location of Activity In Prek Sdey Commune, Koh Thom District, Kandal Province. The activity is supportes by InowAsia project and COSTEA project of ITC. 05th January 2023,
